Due to the smaller size of Conway Youth Soccer Association, we cannot always guarantee a set number of players in each division each season. While the CYSA board will make every effort to provide all children the opportunity to play, there may be situations where we don’t have enough players to form a full team, or there are too many players for one team and not enough for another. In such cases, we may need to move players up an age division to balance team sizes or, in rare instances, ask a family to consider joining another local club.
We maintain strong relationships with other Skagit Valley clubs, including La Conner and Mount Vernon, and will work with them to ensure the best possible experience for your child.
To help manage these potential situations, we are introducing waitlists for divisions with anticipated higher enrollment. This step is precautionary and does not mean your child will not make the team. If an imbalance occurs, we may coordinate with families to transfer players to other clubs, if necessary. Additionally, similar challenges may arise if there is a shortage of volunteer coaches. In previous seasons, this has sometimes led to team cancellations, requiring players to be reassigned to existing teams, which can impact playing time.
