Through the generosity of the Conway community, local companies, a matching grant from Skagit Valley Youth Soccer Association, CYSA embarked on a major renovation to our soccer fields starting in 2018. In the spring of 2018, volunteers installed potable and irrigation water systems to service the upper field, providing infrastructure for a future drinking fountain and irrigation for the lower fields. Accessibility enhancements will be added, developing an access trail from the upper parking lot to the fields, and easing the grade between the running track and upper fields in the event emergency vehicle access is required.
In May of 2018, CYSA partnered with Lefeber Turf to begin field upgrades: filling in low points with topsoil, soil nutrient modification, and re-seeding the upper field. Once grass is established, it will be maintained by Conway School District and Lefeber Turf, with irrigation equipment provided by Conway Youth Soccer Association. The upper field was completed in the fall of 2018.
In the spring of 2019, the lower fields were renovated, continuing the process of enhancing the improving the fields for our athletes and Conway School students. Conway Youth Soccer Association will continue to maintain the fields through a partnership with the District for through 2022.
Special thanks to SkVYSA, TRICO, Conway School District, Conway School PTA, Lefeber Turf, Wilbur-Ellis, and our many volunteers!
